Information we handle
This includes your name, e-mail address, phone number, delivery address, town, postcode, order contents, frame size, payment-method choice and any order note. Correspondence may include questions about fit, assembly, delivery, cancellation or returns.
Checkout entries remain in the current page’s memory and are cleared when the page is closed or reloaded. They are not transmitted to us by this checkout or stored in browser storage. We receive information that you choose to send directly by e-mail or telephone. We do not collect card numbers, security codes or banking passwords.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use correspondence to answer enquiries and take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to fulfil any contract agreed with you. We rely on legal obligation where applicable for tax records and consumer-rights requests. Our legitimate interests include managing correspondence, preventing misuse and resolving disputes, balanced against your rights. Where consent is required, we ask for it separately; you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not use this checkout for marketing or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
International transfers
If a service provider processes correspondence outside the UK, we will ensure an appropriate UK transfer mechanism applies, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards and any necessary additional measures. You can contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Checkout entries are not transferred by this page.
How long we keep information
Checkout information lasts only for the current page session. For information received directly, we retain general enquiries for up to 12 months after resolution. Records of an agreed order, invoices and necessary accounting information may be kept for six years where needed for legal and accounting obligations. Return and dispute correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable legal requirements. We then delete or anonymise it.
Security
We limit access to personal information to those who need it and use appropriate access controls and organisational measures. Please do not send payment credentials or unnecessary sensitive information by e-mail. No method of communication can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing, and withdraw consent at any time. These rights have conditions and exceptions. Contact [email protected]; we normally respond within one month and may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. You may contact us first, but you do not have to.
Age restriction
Our shop is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so that we can take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The date below identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
